Pune | Bengaluru: For Indian IT companies to realize their potential nationally, they will need to focus on three things: markets, manufacturers and people, said CP Gurnani, CEO of Tech Mahindra.

Speaking at NTLF2021, Gurnani said Indian consumers have embraced digital technology during the pandemic and it is now up to Indian businesses to ensure they are ahead digitally. With half a billion internet subscribers and among the fastest growing digital consumer markets, India will surpass others through technology, he said.

“For businesses to be successful, it is important to focus on the human experience,” said Gurnani. “No matter what technology I use, if I don’t focus on design, style, and user interfaces, I’m not facilitating adoption,” Gurnani said. .

Other important aspects relate to data being created and cybersecurity. He said companies like Tesla will come to India because they just can’t ignore the 1.3 billion people here. Finally, it is necessary to put in place a framework to create skilled workers, he said, adding: “We must anticipate the new jobs of the future and create a model where we become a supplier to the world”.

Speaking separately, Capgemini CEO Aiman Ezzat said it was very important for executives to give instructions to their staff. He said Capgemini, like the rest of the industry, moved nearly 97% of its workforce to remote work within 72 hours of the lockdown.
